Digital Road Models
Millbrook is investing in the creation of a Digital Model of its Proving Ground in the UK. The model, created by rFpro, will enable vehicle manufacturers to significantly improve the development of ADAS and autonomous systems. Read the full article on Millbrook’s website here.
Millbrook Proving Ground have released a short video that describes how rFpro are building a Digital Model of their test facility so that their OEM and T1 customers can develop and test their vehicle systems, in simulation, ahead of visits to the real proving ground with physical prototypes. In particular the video focuses on the...
rFpro have released a video showing rFpro being used to train, test and validate DLAD (Deep Learning Autonomous Driving) models. The video shows some of the ways in which rFpro is being used to test DLAD (Deep Learning Autonomous Driving) models. In some clips you can see the view from camera sensors feeding DLAD systems....
With F1 taking to the streets of London today in Trafalgar Square and Whitehall, it reminded us of a project from 2012 when rFpro was used to evaluate the feasibility of a London Grand Prix. This video shows a lap of the suggested route. Look out for Piccadilly, the Wellington Arch, Buckingham Palace and the...
This model has been rebuilt from a new LiDAR survey, with new graphics and a new TerrainServer HDSurface at 1cm resolution in x,y. Here are a couple of screen-grabs showing the new road surface and kerb details. The model is quite detailed but still manages to achieve 120fps on our reference hardware.
rFpro have completed another public road model, this one is in the centre of Shanghai and it is already being used for Autonomous testing. The model spans an area containing a wide selection of roads and junctions from dense urban single-carriageway to multi-lane dual carriageway, with very high correlation to the real-world. Visit us at...
The urban roads were Laser Scanned (LiDAR), with 360deg photography and video. The completed model is shipped with road networks for SUMO (Traffic) and Road5 (IPG CarMaker) as the first customers are making use of the model for ADAS and Autonomous testing, with camera, Radar, LiDAR and Ultrasound sensors as well as for training of...
Chris Hoyle, technical director at rFpro, speaks to Matthew Beecham at Just Auto, answering questions such as “How does rFpro’s digital road modelling service help vehicle manufacture?” and “What level of detail do you have to provide, in order for a simulator to be effective?” Read his answer to these questions and more on the...
